Be bold. Be brave. Be you!

Hello Fashionistas!
I have a confession. In my perfectly ordered closet, with every item of clothing grouped with like pieces and gradually transitioning from warm weather to cold, when I honestly step back and look at it, I’m hit with how many of my pieces look the same.  For starters, I love me some basic colors.  Black. White. Gray.  And then there’s my accidental obsession with horizontal stripes.  I have so many tops and tanks and dresses that fall into one of these color categories.  Does this mean that things aren’t getting warn because I have doubles? Absolutely not.  That’s what’s almost shocking actually, is that those little black dresses or tank tops that I own are some of the pieces that see THE MOST wear.  What does this tell me?

Well first of all I clearly understand my own fashion niche pretty well.  I know what I like to wear, what I feel good in.  Secondly, these pieces each have their own unique twist that is what drew me to them and is the exact reason I wear them so much. That favorite black tank I have that I love to layer things over, well I don’t know about you all but I’m not to the point where I’m going to ACTUALLY wear it every day, there needs to be a little rest.  Therefore, the new items, although similar to ones I already own, get worn a lot and are loved for their own special twist.  What does this all add up?

You’ve loved and worn your other piece and I promise you will do exactly the same with this new one.  Often times one little unique detail is enough to really freshen up a wardrobe and make an outfit feel special.

My advice to you is to know your style! Know the things that make you feel good! If you see a new little black dress, or tank top, or whatever it is, that drew you to it even though you already own something similar to it, don’t be afraid to buy it!

Stay Happy!!

It’s okay to give in sometimes: Our All Black habit

We all have habits we need to get rid of but I just can’t seem to justify letting go of my all black attire habit! Birds are chirping, flowers are blooming and the dreary weather is gone. Our natural instinct is to pack up all of black and move on to brighter things, but I’m here to tell you it is okay to indulge in your habit. You can wear black in the spring and summer, yes I just said that, YOU CAN WEAR BLACK!

Now, I’m not telling you to wear all black everyday in the summer time because you will definitely be sweating bricks!

Wearing black can tend to make you look slimmer and is super to easy to accessorize since it goes with everything. When incorporating black into your spring/summer outfits it is important to remember one word, balance. When picking out your black outfits balance color and proportions. For example, if you are wanting to balance color, wear a black dress & pair it with some nude heels or bright wedges.

Quick tip: When picking black wardrobe items make sure the item is not heavy and is light/airy.

Proportions is another important key to your black outfit! For example, pair your short black summer dress with booties, or wedges. When wearing something a bit longer wear an open toed sandal or heel. Following both of these tips will help to elongate your figure!
